Michael Spence, Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, has published a very interesting blog post about running Mimer SQL in AWS.
In this article he uses Mimer SQL to demonstrate how to migrate an Oracle Rdb database to Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as application source code. Michael points out that customers with Oracle Rdb workloads in need for such a migration will find that Mimer SQL provides such a solution and goes on to explain how this is done and how easy that is.
The key take-away is how easy it is to set up Mimer SQL on any platform (Linux, Windows, macOS, etc.) using AWS. Mr. Spence uses the binary compatibility of Mimer SQL to move a database from one instance in AWS to another, where they run on totally different operating systems but still are able to seamlessly and effortlessly use the same physical files.
