VSI OpenVMS Bootcamp 2024 was a three days event by the end of October, at the Marriot Long Wharf Hotel in Boston.
Mimer SQL was represented by CTO Bengt Gunne, who had received two speaking slots: one on an overview of Mimer SQL on OpenVMS and the second about the database security features of Mimer SQL.
As a major announcement as part of the overview presentation, mr. Gunne revealed the release of Mimer SQL version 11.0.8E — the world’s first production ready database management system for OpenVMS on x86. After 18 months of testing since the beta version last spring, this version was officially unveiled at the Bootcamp.
