Chananya Pomkaew will talk about AI-Enabling OpenVMS Applications: Modernizing the Data Layer with Mimer SQL and MCP.
This session shows how organizations can retain the reliability of OpenVMS while enabling AI access to operational data by migrating to Mimer SQL and adding a Model Context Protocol(MCP)-based AI layer. This MCP layer is published as an OpenSource project on GitHub (https://github.com/mimersql/mimer-mcp).
Karl-König Königsson, together with Fernando Rocha of ARS, will talk about Migrating 11.5 Billion Rows of data to OpenVMS x86_64, an Oracle Rdb to Mimer SQL case study.
A major financial institution in Mexico is migrating their complete system to OpenVMS on x86_64 and Mimer SQL with the help of ARS in Chile. This presentation is a joint venture between ARS and Mimer where we detail the challenges, the solutions, the time and effort, and the lessons learned from this large scale migration project.
